You are never alone in this world, but it is your actions that will either draw people closer or push them away. You, like all people, deserve happiness. If you are struggling with feelings of lonliness and/or depression, I encourage you to put yourself out there and try new things. Go to public events, meet new people. However, if you believe you are in need of help or if you are in serious danger, please see a therapist or a professional.)

"Whatever. No point in delaying the inevitable."

"Because if I don't, then it will be because I gave up. I'm not the problem, the problem is the system we live in. It's set up so that when you are outside the circle of "potential romance" then you pretty much have no chance of getting back in. I'm out of the circle."
"Because I've done this song and dance show before. Everything goes all fine and dandy at first, but things go bad pretty quickly afterwards. Someone says the wrong thing, someone looks at something the wrong way, and it breeds hostility. That hostility grows and builds more and more until suddenly, we went from a relationship to hating everything about each other."
"Because that's how these things go. No one really cares about or loves each other, its just more convinient to be with someone than without. That is all love really is. Convenience."

"That's fair. I never really had trouble telling which was which, but I get that they aren't for everyone."
"What are you talking about? It's pretty easy to tell what is real and what isn't. I guess I was always smart enough to tell the difference."
"I dunno, I kinda like it when its not automatically clear what is real and what isn't. That way, you are motivated to go look it up yourself and maybe learn even more! Plus, the fiction part of it might make it more appealing to someone who might think history is boring, and it might bridge the gap between them."

"What are you talking about? There was a pretty mainstream romance novel that came out recently, with the 50 Shades series!"

I mean, yes the physical medium for books have been slowly dying out with Barnes and Noble recently downsizing and with the kindle dominating digital reading and Amazon in almost total control of shipping books, but I don't think all of reading is dead... why do you?"
"Reading is a longer and less interesting format of storytelling. Its been around for far to long, and now that we have movies, television, and video games, all of which can tell a story much better through visual as well as mental stimulation, the idea of actually sitting down and reading words on a page for stories will be outdated within a few years. The world we live in is constantly moving foreward, pushing ahead to try to find the next best thing and removing anything out of date, and reading will die out pretty soon."
"Writing books in general are massive wastes of time. The only ones who get published are those who have a dedicated following, so its a system of the rich get richer. It doesn't matter how good of a book you write, it will never be popular because of how the world works. That's why so many books are just retreds of previously popular stories, because all of writing is just writers just trying to capture to popularity of past books in their own ways."
"Because no one wants to read anymore. If you want to learn how to do something, you look up a tutorial on youtube. If you want to enjoy a story, you watch a movie or watch TV. People today are lazy who want to put in as little effort as possible to do anything, and that includes reading a story themselves."

I mean, there are a lot of terrible movies, but there are also some really great movies to. However, I know a friend who is an amateur movie critic, and he has continually told me that modern movies aren't anywhere near as good as classics, and that he cannot enjoy new movies. What do you think?"
"I prefer newer movies. Even if we ignore the technical marvels we can pull off that older movies couldn't have dreamed of, we have been opening up so many interested avenues of story telling. We have movies from the perspective of the villain, we have movies detailing some very dramatic and serious matters and so much more. True, there might be more noticable bad movies, but the thing about classics are we only remember the good ones. I guarantee that there are plenty of garbage movies from the "classic age of cinima."
"I think older movies are much better. They were able to create incredible experiences with less than a quarter of what we have at our disposal today. It is awe inspiring seeing some of the incredible things that they were able to make with so little. Alien, Jurassic Park, The Godfather, all of these movies created amazing films that still hold up today compared to the action and special effects filled world of today. The stories were new and novel, and they hadn't been done to death like today."

I feel like I have to read reviews before I see a movie to know if it is even worth seeing, and that ruins some of the fun."
"I guess I agree. Sometimes I just watch a bad movie knowing its a bad movie just so I can enjoy it for what it is. Nothing wrong with that. If you go in expecting a bad movie, then its a little safe. If it turns out bad, great, you have something to make fun of. If it turns out great, awesome, you get the plesant surprise of a good movie."
"Honestly all movies nowadays aren't any good. I really prefer older movies like Shawshank Redemption, Alien, you know, the classics."
"I never had any trouble telling what was a good movie from what was a bad movie. I always see the warning signs letting me know what to expect in a trailer. Maybe that's just me."

Not that there is anything wrong with having that passion, but its not exactly what I had expected. What makes you so passionate about it?"
"I'm passionate about learning about my ancestry. Its so fascinating learning that you might be related to someone famous or that you might have some part of you that you never knew about."
"I'm just passionate about learning about the local history. You never know who or what events might have occured right on the very land you call home. Maybe your elementary school was used as a bunker during a war, or maybe that broken down building on the edge of your land that your mother told you to stay away from actually was once a hospital. You never know what you will find."
"Nothing in particular. It's just kinda neat to learn about the past."

"I like writing horror stories. Its one of the few genres where you can physically tell someone's reaction to your writing as they read it. Fear is one of the most powerful emotions, and if you do it well, you can physically see the fear grow as they read."
"I like comedy. The world is already filled with people who spread anger and fear and sorrow, I'd rather write stories that make people smile and laugh."
"I enjoy writing fantasy games. You can just do whatever you like, and you can make up all your own rules for your world. As long as you stay consistant, you can feel like a god, creating epic stories with wide reaching plotlines."
"Science fiction is fun to write because it is taking what we have in the real world and taking it to a logical extreme. The majority of science fiction stories can usually be watered down to "what would happen if we got the thing we really really want." For example, we really want to someday be able to explore the stars and discover the vastness of space. Boom Star Trek. We wonder what it would be like to travel through time and fight aliens and boom Doctor Who. We wonder what it would be like to have laser swords and magic and space ships and boom Star Wars. Science fiction, at its most basic level, is giving people what they want, and finding out what would happen when they got it."

It's even better when you make your own recipie, because then every part of your creation is your own, nothing was taken from elsewhere besides the tools and the ingredients. What kind of food do you make?"
"I like all kinds of styles of food, from Chinese to Mexican to Italian to French to Japanese. I could go on and on, I always want to explore trying out new food ideas, and try new things!"
"I like cooking, but I play it safe. I know a half dozen recipies that I know I like and I make them really really well. Yeah its not exactly exciting but you know you will get consistently good quality overall."

"Simple. Everything is a waste of time. Unless it directly affects you getting a better life or something similar, it is a waste of time."
"Because pretty much everything has been so watered down to be able to make the most best selling thing ever. They forget the reason that what made things great is becuase they tried new things and discovered cool ideas and played towards certain nieches. "Do you really think that way? Do you really think that women 'lead men on with the promise of sex'? Sex isn't a thing you get, you aren't owed sex for a certain amount of time you spend with someone. You shouldn't expect payment in the form of sex for spending time with someone. It's not a thing that is owed, its not something you have to earn. It is something that is special, and you treat it like its a right. What ever made you think that way?"
"Woman are the ones who control sex. They get to pick when it occurs because all they need to do is say no and suddenly the idea of sex becomes wrong. The entire system is set up so that men can only get it with permission, while it is perfectly ok for a woman to just get sex when she wants it. All she has to say is "No" and then everything should stop, no matter what happened before."
"Because if its not a right, then nothing will change. In nature, sex is built around the continuation of the species. The idea of "consent" doesn't matter in nature. All that matters is that the species continues on. Humans don't understand that it is our basic, natural instinct to desire sex becuase that is how we survive, and yet we let women have the ability to just halt the reproduction of our species for something as simple as "feeling" or the like."

If you were going to just sabatoge this evening from the beginning, why did you even bother doing this in the first place? Did you decide from the beginning you wanted this meeting to go as poorly as possible, or did you just decide this wasn't worth your time? If you aren't going to put any effort into things, if you aren't going to try, then what is the point of doing anything? Are you intentionally trying to say all the worst things possible so this will be over quicker? If that's the case, why are you even here to begin with? If you aren't going to enjoy yourself, if you aren't going to try, then what's the point? You are just wasting your time, my time, and the time of everyone else."
With that, she angrily rose to her feet, looking at you with a tranquil fury and dissapointment. "Thank you for the evening. It was not a pleasure meeting you, but I am glad I did, becuase now I have a new low to build off of for the next person I meet. And before you start saying that I'm only prooving your point that this was pointless, let me ask you this." She says, pointing an angry finger at you as she pulls on her jacket. "If you intentionally sabatoge an evening because of some foolish notion that its pointless, you just create a self fulfilling prophecy. If you honestly believe this is pointless, then how about complaining about it, why don't you try to change it."

I was never really a fan of them, but then again, maybe I just never played the right ones. If I were to try and get into them, what would you suggest as a good game to start on?"
"A good RPG is a great way to start. Something like Dragon Quest IX, Tales of Symphonia, Chrono Trigger, OFF, Undertale, or Final Fantasy VII are all great games with wonderful storylines that are a great entry point to the genre."
"If you want video games watered down to a science, FPS games have been really good lately. Superhot is a great twist on first person shooter genre, and Spec Ops The Line is a really great, if dark, showing of the reality of the situation you find yourself in. Heavy Bullets is an interesting blend of First Person Shooting and Roguelike mechanics to create an interesting combination. If you aren't big on violence, but want to try a FPS game, try Slime Rancher. Its cute and adorable but still can teach you the basics of how a first person shooter works."
"Puzzle games are fantastic. The Room, Please Don't Touch Anything, Portal 2 and Antichamber are all great ways to get you into games if you aren't sure what kind of genre you like."
"Platformers started the video gaming scene, and platformers should be where you begin. I heard the newest Mario Odyssey game is fantastic, Shovel Knight is an instant classic, Super Meat Boy is well beloved, I heard Hat in Time is great, and Battleblock Theater is a great time with friends."
"If you want a great introduction into the gaming world, I'd suggest some games that are designed so that anyone can play. Games like The Stanley Parable, Proteus, Yume Nikki, Gone Home, Thomas Was Alone, Papers Please, To The Moon, and VA-11 HALL-A are all good starting points."
"If you like horror movies, try horror games? Welcome to the Game, Resident Evil 7, some Five Nights at Freddy's games if you like, Outlast, Slender the Arrival, Silent Hill, Amnesia, and while I haven't played it, I read that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a great horror game."
"I'd reccomend trying some open ended games so you can experience it at your own pace. Some great examples of this are Starbound, Terraria, Stardew Valley, Breath of the Wild, Minecraft, Hyper Light Drifter (although that one is more action adventure), and Fallout."

From the very beginning you showed you had no intrest in continuing the conversation, and you put no effort towards making any form of connection. If you truly believe that something is pointless, then why did you bother doing it in the first place? To see what would happen? Or were you hoping that you were wrong? If you want to prove something wrong, start by causing the change that you want to happen. The more you try, the better chances you have of something going well.
Remember, every choice you make has a consequence, and it doesn't just mean a consequence for you. You ruined someone's night through your actions. You took what could have been a happy memory and turned it into a waste of everyone's time and a negative memory. What were you trying to prove? More importantly, what events did you set in motion today? You probably won't ever know. Odds are, nothing will come of this besides a ruined night and maybe a good cry, but you don't know what they might have been going through. You made the choices you did, but everything you do affects others. I try to make sure that I affect people in a positive way. Why don't you?

Maybe your line of thinking isn't as set in stone as you might think. My advice? Put yourself out there, and be optimistic. Even if you fail a few times, it will eventually make your success all the sweeter. The only thing that I can guarantee is that nothing will get better if you don't try.
If you want to start over, feel free to go to the [[Beginning]]She frowns, upset at your flippant attitude. "You really think that? I don't know what happened in the past with you, but don't try to take it out on me." She says, looking visably hurt. "I was actually really looking forward to this, because I was hoping to meet someone new. I didn't expect to meet the love of my life, I was just hoping to make a new friend." Her voice cracks, as tears begin to well up in her eyes.
"I don't know why you cared so little during this, but when you act like that, blow people off from the very beginning, it can be really hurtful. Truth is, I don't know what would have happened if things had gone differently. Maybe we would have just had a good night and left, and nothing more came of it. Maybe it would have been a terrible night. But maybe it would have been a really great night. I hoped it would have been a great one. I really did. But it doesn't matter what it would have been, because you made your opinion quite clear." She sniffles a little, rubbing tears out of her eyes. "Is this what you had wanted? Hurt feelings and the satisfaction that you were right? Because congratulations, you were right and I look like an idiot. You humiliated me and wasted my night, all for the sake of proving a point. I hope it was worth it."
And with that, she left.
Ending one: [[Proving Yourself Right]]She goes quiet, and after several minutes of silence, she rises to her feet. "I think its clear that this isn't going anywhere." She says, her voice quiet as she pulls on her coat. "I hope that you have a wonderful evening, and I apologize for wasting your time. Now, if you excuse me, I am going to go and try and salvage the rest of my evening that I had such high hopes for. I truly hope you find whatever you are looking for, whatever that might be. Good luck."
After that, she briskly walks out the door, leaving you alone at the table.
Ending Two: [[Alone]]What can I say here? You chose to do nothing at all. You didn't try to sabatoge the evening, nor did you try to enjoy it, instead you just chose to do nothing. What did you think that would accomplish? If you want something to happen, you need to put some sort of effort into it.

My advice? Try. Try just a little. If you truly don't care what happens, maybe try caring about how someone else enjoys themself? It isn't all about you.
If you wish to try again, please do so by going back to the [[Beginning]]These words cause her to recoil as if you had slapped her in the face. "Really? I mean..." She sighed, as if all the joy and excitement she had stored up inside her from earlier just escaped out of her. "I guess so. I mean, at the end of the day, that is the only reason to do this. I just..." She shakes her head and starts to pack up her things. "If you don't want to enjoy the evening, fine. But next time you just want to waste away an afternoon, do it on your own. I am now going to go try and see if I can have some fun somewhere this evening. Becuase unlike you, I did have an emotional connection for how this evening went." She says, a hint of bitter anger in her voice as she walked away, leaving you alone at the table.
Ending Two: [[Alone]]You read the card aloud. It says: "Do you hope to have children someday? How many?"
"Yes, I would like children, but only one or two."
"Yes, I would love children. I think four is my maximum."
"Yes I would love children! Having over four kids is a dream of mine!"

Dogs are really affectionate, but cats have a greater sense of wariness. With dog, it loves you very quickly, but you have to earn the love of the cat.
